Pamela Gawler-Wright presents Your Working Parts

Pam Gawler-Wright returns to bring another original NLP model developed over 15 years of working with people who strive to balance busy, varied lives.

The Working Parts process is a practice that you can learn to use for a personal MOT, a boost in motivation and confidence or even to help you out of that rut you may sometimes find yourself slipping into. A celebration of your own diverse talents and achievements, the Working Parts model extends Self-Relations practice into the arena of personal success, working balance and active congruence.

As always, the practice group will be accompanied by Pam’s extensive notes to take home with you and refer to again and again.

From Hurt to Wholeness with Michael Mallows

This interactive session will explore how we, our colleagues or clients, and the people we live with, can change patterns of behaviour that are underpinned by limiting beliefs and values that reinforce Hate, undermine Hope and impair Healing.

Physis is the growth force of nature that urges us to create relationships that generate an attitude or spirit that seeks to embrace others in considerate and creative harmony.

Any of us can be driven by old hurts to such an extent that our attitudes and actions are the antithesis of love i.e. Hate! (you can label it in ways that you find more palatable e.g. low self-esteem, or, "I don't care what people think!", but until we recognise it for the poison that it is, every hope is already contaminated and therefore, probably futile!)

Healing is never going to happen tomorrow, it can only happen in the moment. If we are 'cured', fixed, sorted, counselled or coached toward true resolution of of old hurts, we will approach people and possibilities with clear(er) thoughts, an open mind and a welcoming heart. We will, naturally, have a generosity of spirit and a willingness to risk getting hurt rather than trust nobody because we are not over anxious about fear of feeling, and not overwhelmed by yesterday's shadows.

We will share a meditation that invites you to generate an energy that enfolds others and can be a profound healing.

Wholeness includes and enfolds others. Wholeness reconnects because it means that we accept that any of us will, from time to time, being human, aim high, stumble and fall short.

We see as we are because we are mirrors and echoes of, and for each other, if we so choose.

Rapid Rapport with Speed Clean and Space
by Wendy Sullivan

A burst of high-energy activity based on Clean Change Company's ‘Instant Coaching’ model (‘Just add metaphor’!) combined with a journey to investigate the final frontier – space.

You’ll learn innovative ways to use metaphor and space to:

  • come across as more respectful and rapport-ful while still making an impact
  • make space your co-facilitator
  • put the ownership of change where it belongs – with the client
  • help people make quicker change
  • tap into the wisdom of the client’s system so that changes ‘fit’ them perfectly
  • work ‘content free’ on sensitive issues
  • embrace ‘less is more’ and make life easy!

The process is based on Clean Language, famous for its long-lasting results in coaching, therapy and business. So you can expect to make surprising personal discoveries, too!

Wendy Sullivan is a specialist international trainer of Clean Language and Symbolic Modelling who has worked with the founders of that field – Penny Tompkins, James Lawley and David Grove – for more than eight years. Her students span five continents and include private individuals and corporate clients, who use these powerful approaches in personal development and to improve communication, relationships and business success. She is a registered psychotherapist and a certified trainer of NLP and, with Judy Rees, runs West London-based Clean Change Company (www.cleanchange.co.uk).

An evening discussion and workshop with Richard Churches
Co-author of NLP for Teachers, How to be a highly effective teacher

Richard will talk about how the book came about and research into the use of NLP in teaching.

There will be the opportunity to experience a couple of the innovative ways in which he and Roger Terry have been using NLP with teachers, including the Puppet Master’s Parents Evening activity.

NLP for Teachers: How to be a highly effective teacher is a rare book – unique and original ideas presented in so many different stimulating ways.

You have idea sets, toolboxes, research zones, top tips, cartoons – a cornucopia of stimuli. Churches and Terry have produced something that not only will make you a better teacher, it will many any of us a better person if we soak in and act on the many clear suggestions. NLP for Teachers is at once a
deeply practical and deeply theoretical book.

Michael Fullan, Professor Emeritus, OISE/University of Toronto Crown House Publishing

Richard Churches is Principal Consultant for National Programmes at CfBT Education Trust, the world leading education consultancy. In recent years he has worked on a number of major UK government initiatives for the DfES/DCSF and the National College for School
Leadership. This has included being the national lead consultant for Fast Track teaching, Managing Editor for the NPQH materials and consultant for the London Leadership Strategy.

He is also National Programme Manager for the support materials for the new secondary

BELIEF BUSTING
- Beliefs Sleight of Mouth & Conversational Belief Change
Jamie Smart

We all know about the power of goals; but most people have had the experience of setting goals & then not achieving them. One of the most powerful contributors to this is limiting beliefs. No matter how much a person wants to do something, if they don't believe it's possible (or that they deserve it), it's not going to happen for them. In this entertaining & informative session, Jamie will demonstrate the power of belief change.
So, what beliefs have you perceived as having limited you until now?

Jamie Smart is the Founder of Salad and www.mynlpresources.com. Jamie is a highly skilled and experienced SNLP-accredited NLP trainer.  He has been taught by some of the best NLP trainers, including Richard Bandler, John Grinder, Christina Hall, John LaValle, Robert Dilts & others. He teaches with a blend of humour, compassion and wisdom that is exceptional in his chosen field.

As well as being the creator of Salad’s Ericksonian Hypnosis CardsTM, NLP Coaching CardsTM  and other training products, Jamie writes a free, weekly NLP tip which goes out on the internet. He is also the creator of the NLP ‘pizza-walk’ experience

Second Order Change

James Rolph

As human beings we are great at coming up with logical solutions to enduring problems that despite their obvious logic simply don’t work.  A classic example of this is dieting as a means of resolving problems of excess body fat.  90 – 95% of people who diet gain their body fat back (and often more) within 3 – 5 years.

As a changeworker and hypnotherapist I see mostly clients who have been trying to resolve their problems for years – and have by and large failed.  So what is happening?  The problem is one of trying to apply the logic of the system to change the system that it governs. As Albert Einstein so succinctly put it “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them”.

The lies in shifting logical levels to generate second order change – a change to the governing parameters of the system that is maintaining the problem.  And this means stepping right outside the box!

This talk will look at the principles and challenges of generating second order change and developing lasting solutions to previously enduring problems

James is an NLP’er who works directly with clients in generating personal change and improving personal performance. 'What do you Want?' and what stops you from having it?'

Angela Macleod

Angela will share with us strategies to deal with procrastination and self-sabotage looking at how we say we want something (or a state of being) but then undermine our own efforts to obtain it. She will focus on more immediate desires such as preparing for a party, exam, visiting someone , business meeting, advising an employee that he/she is not making the grade, wanting to sort an untidy room/ garden (whatever is causing a 'block' in someone’s life at present).

This would involve:
Identifying what we want  and now having that, will do for us,  identification of 'away from' or 'towards' motivation, self sabotage behaviour’s including and cognitive distortions which limit us and keep us 'stuck' with the familiar but unwanted ways of being. Taking alternative perspectives (perceptual positions) identification of the desired state including in particular how the loss of the current (even though undesired) state will feel.

This will be a really fascinating session and we all look forward immensely.

Angela’s background:
An NLP Practitioner and Master1990’s, accredited by the British Associations for Counselling and Psychotherapy as a counsellor and trainer, employed by the University of Leicester to lead the counselling training programme in Northampton. She also works with clients in private practice and mentors executives in the private and public sector.  In her early days Angela fulfilled a childhood dream of having a fashion boutique, was a fashion model, training with LAMDA and Trinity College, London as a teacher of Speech and Drama,  at 19 with 50 students. She trained them to develop their confidence and communicate more effectively and gain many certificates for their graded exams.
